Muslim Brotherhood launches online dating site

IkhwanDating may signal the end of arranged marriages

An online dating site was recently launched by the Muslim Brotherhood to help its male members find appropriately veiled woman with advanced skills in general obedience.

Men and women set up profiles on the social network where, much like Facebook, if a man finds a specimen of interest he may send her a “poke”, which on IkhwanDating signifies a marriage proposal.

The woman can then check out the pokers profile, and if her father agrees he can click on “Accept marriage proposal” on her behalf.

Members like Mahmoud El-Balboos have already been able to snatch up three obedient wives via IkhwanDating, and it’s no surprise given his spot-on profile:

Name: El-Balboos, Mahmoud
Age: 52
Education: PhD in reciting Koran while doing handstand.
Beard length: 83 centimeters.
Penis length: Istaghfar allah!!
Hobbies
: Reading and re-reading article 2 of the constitution.
Interested in
: Low IQ women with good set of ovaries.

Interestingly, IkhwanDating has two different entrances to the site, one for women and one for men. “In a proper Islamic society men and women must use different doors to avoid accidental touching, even if it is only virtual,” explained the site administrator, adding, “That’s why women have to add /horma to ikhwandating.com to be able to enter”

Meanwhile Salafi groups have criticized the site as too liberal, warning that personal pictures of fully veiled women can be too easily misconstrued as pornographic material.

Dear makarona, your Article is so disgusting. Mocking Muslims because of their clothes and their appearance is poor. If you want to make a funny article than try to write something about yourself. Your idea of making jokes is really lame. (and no, I don't wear a face veil or something like this, It just sucks to mock ppl).

European woman, it doesn't look like you get this article. This isn't about Muslims, it's about the Muslim Brotherhood, a political group that, to the opinion of many people, is backward, hypocritical and altogether dangerous.

I agree with European Woman ... this is very distasteful.

I have absolutely no issues whatsoever with criticising and making fun of the brotherhood - in fact, I fully endorse and support it.

But the brotherhood and Islam are NOT one and the same, and this supposedly "funny" article crosses the boundary in my opinion.

I don't accept making fun of Qur'an recital or any other Islamic practises. If you want to make fun at the brotherhood, then perhaps address their hypocrisy / lack of democracy .. or how they were directly involved in killing Sadat and now they're acting all democratic ... or the fact that article 2 wasn't EVEN included in the referendum yet the brotherhood instigated armies of people to go out and vote YES (blindly) ... or the fact that their official website ordered people to go out and vote YES because other it would be 7aram, but then came on TV afterwards and said "oops - that got posted on our website by mistake"

Please please please do not confuse the brotherhood with Islam ... please do not make fun of Islam .. please remove / modify this article

Brotherhood ≠ Islam!!

Dude you don't comment on articles you don't understand... the article is criticizing misconceptions of Islam by the Muslim brotherhood... not Islam itself

Oh and if you are going to start whining about people criticizing other cultures, you REALLY should start considering something called "FREEDOM OF SPEECH"

Other than that, great article i had a good laugh !

I actually believe this is a perfect discription to how people see the Muslim Brotherhood. Over the past few days people in Egypt have expressed great fear, mocking around that if the MB rule Egypt they will all wear veil and Niqqab, do nothing but all become Islamists like Iran..

I actually believe the writer is brilliant in setting fears this way.. the article actually shows that people think the MB do nothing in the world but recite Quran ( which is definitely awesome. I wish I hold a phd in reciting Quran). However people almost forgot that the MB hold huge part of the country's business..

P.S. MB were not involved directly or indirectly in Sadat's killings.

Kudos on the satire.

I don't see why people are complaining. Satire and free speech are healthy for society. It's about time Egyptian society knocked down some taboo barriers and encouraged more free thinking.

It is also clear as day that this is attack on religious zealotry and not religion itself. It's commentary on how life might be like if the Muslim Brotherhood ever get in power.

Kudos to the Koshary!

lol at people thinking insulting the Muslim Brotherhood means insulting Islam

The Brotherhood may have you believe that they are the"guards of Islam" but that's not the case.

@Anon I can't find anything in the article that insults Islam.

Viewing women as nothing more than breeding machines is what the MB belives not Islam.

Doing nothing more than reciting Quran and worshiping in the mosque all the days of your life is not what Islam promotes as we all know. That's not what the MB or Saflaists would have you believe.

We need to focus on what is really wrong with this article "The woman can then check out the pokers profile, and if her father agrees he can click on “Accept marriage proposal” on her behalf". This is unacceptable. A woman MUST NOT check the poker's profile, her father does that for her. Her opinion is of no value and being exposed to a male's profile might lead to promiscous thoughts.

Now i don't know how criticizing MB got any thing to do with mocking veiled women or people reciting qura'n .

These people that you are mocking are not necessarily muslim brotherhood there is a large section of the society follows islamic traditions and not from MB and vice versa .

If you want to criticize MB or mock them then talk about their political views ..etc

This a very ill-thought, ill-considered topic for the article.

I tried to get access to the subject Dating Site, but the Internet sensors blocked it. Darn! I want to see what you are all talking so heatedly about. I’m really just curious--I already have three dumb wives with productive ovaries, and if you saw them, you'd agree that they should keep their veils on. BTW, how can I join this Muslim Brotherhood? They sound so cool!

Hey :)

I totally disagree with the penis length category because seriously they would not write that... but the whole text is just so much fun to read.

I also want to call them something else other than brothers because simply there is no blood relationship between us what so ever and if by any means I would have a brother it would not be them ...

Keep making fun of them, no problem what so ever :)

Dear European Woman and anonymous #1: I think you need to get laid. It's always sad to be reminded that there are still many people like you who have no sense of humor. Life is so much simpler if you can take a joke...

Mahmoud El-Balboos looks like G. W. Bush dressed up as an Arab.

Intentional?

If so, I love the secondary layer you built in.

It's pitiful that so many ppl missed the point of the article. . . it isn't about mocking islam but islam extremism, which are two very different things. In a hypothetical world, if it were Jewish extremism, Christian extremism or even Buddihst that's dominant, I'd still think it's fine to mock it.
Anyways, an extremely hilarious article as usual.

@ Miss D
I was about to write the same thing, people you are missing the point....

If you want to find a reason to argue for the sake of arguing then let it be away from here.

I don't see it as offending to any muslim at all, if you are so insecure that you can't take self criticism then you might want to get that so called faith of yours checked and perhaps re-checked.

I am muslim and I think that this article is so funny it made up for a long bad day at work....

@ Makarona, Can you please hook me up or am I not qualified???
Please Help me....

Very Funny and nicely conceived, but don't you think that the MB and Salafis find the use of modern technology such as the internet to be 'harram', instead they advocate the use of messenger stool pigeons to select brides.
